First time using your new debit card?

When you use your Interac Flash® debit card at a merchant for the first time, you must enter your PIN. After that, you can use the contactless payment feature to pay for your purchases.

Safety tips.

  • Choose a 4-digit PIN if you travel abroad frequently, or a 5-digit PIN for extra security.

  • Choose a PIN that’s easy to remember but difficult to guess.

  • Memorize your PIN. Never write it down or keep it close to your debit card.

  • Never lend your card or share your PIN with anyone.

  • Cover the keypad when entering your PIN.

  • Regularly check your account statements or transaction history online. If you find a discrepancy, contact us.

  • Report a lost or stolen debit card right away. To cancel your card, call Client Services at 1-800-522-1846.
